John Ibbotson provides information needed to visit over 150 of Australia's
most scenic and historic lighthouses, both the easy ones and the
difficult ones. It is a hard cover, A5, 264 page take-it-with-you
book containing: Eight location maps, 180 brilliant colour photographs
and a description of each lighthouse, a brief historical description,
an ease of access rating, directions on how to visit them, the operators
who will take you out to see them (some are off the beaten track
and difficult to get too), the cost, the visiting hours and whether
there is accommodation available in the keepers' cottages. There
are also 100 different definitions of lighthouse terms and historical
facts. The book can be used as a planning guide for visiting specific
lighthouses or as a travelling companion so that you can check if
there are any notable lights along the way. |
